"Flanked by signs proclaiming "Sheep at Work, Please Do Not Disturb," Mower was designed by Carnegie Mellon University's Osman Khan, as a reference to the Philip K. Dick book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (later the basis for the Ridley Scott Film, Bladerunner).

This Styrofoam sheep can mow large lawns, with the help of a remote control. Of course this cartoony bot isn't the most efficient yard work device on the market, but it comes with the added bonus of talking, bleeting, and singing Mary Had a Little Lamb. " added on 2008-09-28

'rock garden modular planter' by alain gilles for qui est paul?.

"The modular planters are meant to be reminder of the logic found in rock gardens, also making reference to the once flourishing natural stone paths found in gardens that were made from roughly
cut stones. the planters play with juxtapositions and allow for individuals to partake in the design by giving them freedom to place the planters in numerous settings and arrangements. made entirely of
recycled polyethylene, these planters can be used to create a rock garden on a terrace, visually break up larger spaces or even grow aromatic herbs." added on 2008-09-10

"Great for a humid place this building in Sao Paolo built by Triptyque, a French/Brazilian firm, has plants growing right out of pores on its 'skin'. It also displays the pumps and irrigation system that run the misters (and also recycles rain water) on the exterior of the structure.

"The walls are thick and covered externally by a vegetal layer that works like the skin of the structure. This dense wall is made of an organic concrete that has pores, where several plant species grow"." added on 2008-09-09

Can a flowerpot sprout directly from the soil rather than set down on the ground? Can, as the plant itself, which originates from the ground, require earth either flat or inclined? Santavase is just that, Santavase revolutionizes the concept of flowerpots, no longer set down but screwed half way into the ground by its steel finished point. For the designer, this represents a prosthesis and a prolongation of nature. Denis Santachiara's flowerpot decorates the garden in an unexpected way, on its own or among others, upright or at a slight angle. For inside use a metal support has also been made available. added on 2008-08-05
