These make me reconsider the amount of work it would take to braid temporary dreds into my hair. Of course, I'd need them to be at least a yard long, and would probably want more dark green than brown in the color balance... but they are amazing and gorgeous.

ETA-- currently the picture is showing the pink & white ones, which are pretty, but I don't want them. Click the link to see the brown/green/yellow foresty colors. added on 2009-11-12

This is not a book; it's a laptop case. And I have a perfectly nice ultrasuede sheath for my laptop (and it's a 15" macbook pro, so the next size larger than the one pictured for this) so I have no actual need of such a thing. BUT... patchwork reclaimed leather is definitely a good way for an item to win my heart. Particularly if it's something that I can actually use, and carry around, and show off. added on 2009-11-09

I have no use at all for table runners, which I think this was supposed to be, but the embroidery is gorgeous and fantastic. Very simple, but lovely plant design and beautifully executed. I'd love to have something I would use (tablecloth, pillowcases, fabric to patch onto clothing...) in a similar style. added on 2009-11-06

This is quite lovely, although I'm pretty sure it would catch on stray threads and loosely woven fabric like crazy. Maybe something similar with applique or embroidery rather than real watch parts would be better? The trick would be to get the detail sufficiently small... added on 2009-10-14

Ok, the laptop bag is fairly nice, but I don't really need one of those just now.

But that is the most fantastic picture ever! added on 2009-10-13

There's somebody who occasionally turns up at the local Sugarloaf craft fairs who makes similarly little rectangular bags with various brocades and art prints, and long straps braided up with beads and typewriter keys, and while they are lovely, I've never quite wanted one enough to justify the price tag.

This is similar (although much lighter, color-wise, and with a slightly shorter strap) and I quite like the rackham print.

Chickadee jacket! What's not to love?

(ok, um... for standard wear it might be nice to be able to get your hands out, and a slightly more fitted body design... actually this would make a fantastic kids' design.) added on 2009-10-07

Ok, I should make these myself if I actually want them. But... hightop ballet slippers? What's not to love! (ooh, and they should be green, or maybe blue... and I'm not sure I'm sold on the seam around the ankle. But yeah. Cute.) added on 2009-10-06

I'm not so sure about the nest of owls bit, but I really like the tree design. It would work well as part of an art quilt, too.

(and not sure what I'd do with it, and all that. But cool, nonetheless.) added on 2009-09-27

I'm somewhat partial to elfstones (stones with holes in them) in general, but I really like the look on this one, with the silver grommets. Not quite sure why... something about the simplicity of it, perhaps. Anyway, very nice. I think I'd be more likely to wear something like this as an anklet or a necklace than as a bracelet, though. added on 2009-09-25

Not that I haven't already got a lifetime supply of mugs and glasses (and my normal tea mug holds about 20 ounces, so normal sized things seem extremely small to me) but these are lovely. I also particularly like the same seller's fern designs. (etsy seller marywibis) added on 2009-09-22

This is really nicely done-- I don't normally wear skirts this short (or long ones as much as I'd like, either, since the cat seems to think long hems are toys...) but I really like the line, the pockets (eee! usable/visible/elegant pockets!) and the ruffly white petticoat look. There's also a half zipper up the front under the ribbon in this picture, which is kind of interesting (but if I were adding miscellaneous non-functional fastenings, I'd do buttons, personally)

Ok, actually I don't think much of this dress, but I really like the fabric. The ad copy in the listing kind of implies that it was a one-off for this particular dress, but I still think it's pretty neat. added on 2009-09-16

I love all three of these costumes. If I weren't so lazy about getting around to making stuff for the dolls, I would be making Waif one or both of the boys' costumes, and girl variants for both Miss Beryl and my 60cm girl...

I'm not at all convinced that tulle does make *everything* better, and I'm not really a fan of necklines that either show off your bra straps or make it so you can't wear one, but I really really like this picture.

Something about the ragged tulle hemline, although if I were to wear it I'd probably make the skirt at least a bit longer (and thus more likely to get the cat treating it like a toy, sadly), the long hair, and the spats just works really well.

Also, it reminds me of my friend Desiree, who was once determined to be my anime stunt double. added on 2009-09-15
