We love brilliant and simple ideas and this one is a particularly good one, and what we really like is when we are the first to bring a product to the market, as it is the case with the Designchain that has just been introduced earlier this year...

Designed by New Zealander Alan Hucks, the Designchain is an effortlessly stylish, multi functional storage system based on a bicycle or motorcycle chain. It is made from crystal clear polycarbonate and is linked together to form a series of tubes that will hold anything from wine to flowers, magazines to utensils, remotes to mobile phones.

It moves like a bike chain and can be shaped into a multitude of configurations.

The clear polycarbonate means you can see the contents from anywhere and it's impact strength makes it virtually indestructible. The Designchain can be mounted as a sculptural shelving solution, stacked on top of each other horizontally, stood up and used vetically or even split up into smaller units. Because of it's modular construction it can be added to or 'grown' by attaching it to another designchain.

Whether you use it in the kitchen, the bathroom, your lounge, your bedroom or your dining room is left up to you, but just the mere fact that it is so versatile gets us really excited... added on 2007-05-02
